What is Meridian?
Meridian is an original transmedia multiverse intellectual property developed by Numenorean Holdings LLC, the parent company of RiverWire. It is a vast creative universe encompassing multiple galaxies, each with its own genre, tone, civilization, and story. The galaxies of Meridian span dark fantasy, science fiction, cosmic drama, and other genres — each fully realized and self-contained, yet connected by a shared cosmology and a hidden mythology that runs beneath all of them.
Meridian is not named after any single location, character, or event within its universe. The name refers to the invisible connective line present in every galaxy of the multiverse simultaneously — whether or not its inhabitants know it exists.
The first entry point into the Meridian multiverse is The Vale — a dark fantasy galaxy and the home of RiverWire, the boutique guitar cable brand operated by Numenorean Holdings LLC.
What Came Before
Before the galaxies, there were The Builders — god-like beings who emerged into existence without memory of origin. Thirteen in total, though only nine were known to each other. Four left early and were never heard from again. The Builders did not know what preceded them. The question of their own origin was unanswerable, even to them.
Together they explored. Together they began to build — each constructing galaxies as creative projects, some building more than one. They developed a shared gateway plane called Aev, a place between all places, designed to connect their creations so they could move freely between the worlds they had made.
One of The Builders — Volx, known as The Hollow One — could not accept the silence of that unanswerable question. Where the others found purpose in creation, Volx found only contempt. All of this — the galaxies, the life within them, the endless building — was noise. A waste. A distraction from the only thing that mattered: finding what came before The Builders themselves.
The Shattering
Volx was defeated once and imprisoned in a plane built specifically for that purpose — The Void. It did not hold. Volx created beings within The Void, used them to break free, destroyed an entire galaxy, and found Aev.
What followed was the greatest battle in the history of Meridian. Armies from every Builder's galaxy converged in Aev to stop Volx from using the gateway plane to reach all of creation at once. Some of The Builders made a terrible decision — they destroyed their own gateways from within Aev to deny Volx access to their galaxies.
The destruction of a gateway from inside Aev caused a catastrophic energy pulse on the other side. Every civilization in an affected galaxy that had achieved advanced technology was instantly stripped of it. Power gone. Infrastructure gone. Millennia of progress, erased. What remained was ruin, myth, and the haunting remnants of a world that had once been something far greater.
This is The Shattering. It is why some galaxies within Meridian exist in states of apparent primitivism while carrying evidence of something far more advanced buried in their ruins.
The Pieces
Volx was ultimately defeated. The Builders did not destroy what remained — they separated it. The physical being of Volx was divided into pieces and scattered across space, time, and hidden locations throughout Meridian. No single galaxy holds more than a fragment. No single being knows where they all are.
In every galaxy across Meridian, there are always those who seek The Pieces. Some know the old stories. Most do not. Most believe they are pursuing power, or treasure, or an ancient relic with properties they cannot yet understand. They are right about the power. They are wrong about everything else.
The convergence of The Pieces is the long-game threat that runs beneath every story in every galaxy of Meridian — present but unspoken, advancing without coordination, moving toward an end that no single hunter in any single galaxy can see coming.
One Galaxy. One Entry Point.
Meridian contains many galaxies. Each will be revealed in its own time, in its own way, through its own story. The first entry point into the Meridian multiverse is The Vale — a dark fantasy galaxy, regressed by The Shattering, haunted by the ruins of a civilization called The Empyreal.
Meridian — The multiverse. All of creation. The top-level IP name.
The Vale — A dark fantasy galaxy within Meridian. Regressed by The Shattering.
The Empyreal — A vanished advanced civilization of The Vale.
Semsa — A planet within The Vale galaxy.
Aelthas — A continent on Semsa.
RiverWire — A forge on Aelthas. The entry point. Where travelers begin.
RiverWire
RiverWire is a forge on the continent of Aelthas, on the planet Semsa, in the galaxy known as The Vale. It is where travelers arrive to commission relics — objects hand-built by a smith who has spent years learning the materials, understanding what they carry, and building things meant to last.
In the real world, RiverWire is a boutique guitar cable company based in Massachusetts — the commercial and creative entry point into the Meridian multiverse. The cables are the relics. The forge is real. The lore is the world they come from.
